OCRegister.com | The Orange County Register
Blogs have come a long way from justing personal sites. Different mediums have taken note that blogs can push content to benefit the community. We’ve seen TV networks incorporate blogs to give a more personal feel to the audience with their individual shows.Â
Now it looks like the newspapers have gone that route as well. After reading John Chow’s advice in the article about his feature in the February Entrepreneur magazine edition, I started to contact the local papers. His advice stated that to land a big article in the magazine we should start with our local newspapers.Â
I’ve noticed that more newspaper sites like LAtimes.com and NYtimes.com are conforming to a blog format. What I mean by that is that these sites have the general blog layout. The simple header with a search box and 3 columns. The middle column contains the article at which people and read easily by scrolling down. In previous years, these sites were laid out in sections like a newspaper .Â
My local newspaper, The OC Register, covers all of Orange County, CA. Even though it’s the local paper it’s still has a huge audience. While browsing around for the Editor’s contact information, I stumbled on this section called, “Publish your Stuff”. I recently published a introduction blog on that site and now it’s on the front page of OCRegister.com with my little avatar. I will be adding more content as time progresses.Â
Blog are being integrated into other different mediums. This integratation creates an extension of their own medium yet it allows instant feedback from the audience.Â
Are there any other newspapers using this platform??

While doing some research on recent successful documentaries, I came across a site called Box Office Mojo. This site has some pretty good projections towards Box Office Sales. I wanted to dwell more into the dvd sales, however that data is not available on this site.
Blogging - has some great audience base. To actually make a documentary that can capitivate an audience to actually go watch it might be a different story. However if there can be a documentary about kids collecting Paper Clips, I believe there is a huge market for blogging. Murderball and Rize really open the public to a discourse community. It really shed light to the unknown. An Inconvenient Truth and Fahrenheit 9/11 took a strong view point to convey a message that change needs to happen. All these documentaries listed below have been successful in their own right.
Here are some of their Domestic Gross Sales at the Box Office.
Paper Clips -Domestic Total Gross: $1,121,744

Murderball - Domestic Total Gross: $1,531,154

Rize - Domestic Total Gross: $3,336,391

An Inconvenient Truth - Domestic Total Gross: $24,146,161

Farenheit 9/11 - Domestic Total Gross: $119,194,771

Blogging The Movie hopes to make its mark in the list of these Documentaries. We hope to be branded with the term Blogging itself, so that everyone on the cast will be synonymous with blogging and the featured 10 will inevitable be successful with the fame they receive. This site will become an open door for all those interested in blogging. The market is there, it’s just a matter of time until that potential is reached.

Here is a rough draft of the T shirt design for the 1st run. On the front we will have our branding colors of red and yellow. This will be a sure head stopper at conventions. The branded red shirt will stand out from the sea of plain white tees.

On the back of the shirt we are giving away an added bonus to all our sponsors. If you purchase a car sponsorship by 10/20/07 we will put your domain name back of the t-shirt to publicize your site for exposure.

Forget a poll, lets just have all 3 of you guys in the movie! Who’s game? If not, I’m sure another top blogger would like to be.
John Chow
The evil genius himself. In all fairness John Chow actually is one of the blogs that I visit most often. I was referred to visit his site from my good friend Ms. Danielle. After I read his PDF ebook on how to make money online, I was an instant fan. Where do I sign up?! Where do I start? So after a week of hunting through all his old articles I started my own site Cash for Comments, a blog based on guerrilla marketing tactics.
Many people love to hate John Chow because of his style of writing, which is not for the weak. His strong personality shows through his blog. He boasts about his monthly earnings while readers and haters flock to his site. His recent Total Blog Income For August 2007: $17,828.61, is the light at the end of the tunnel that most bloggers dream to accomplish.
He grew fame creating The TechZone and TTZ Media Network. Creator of some of the fastest computers the world have ever seen. He currently resides in Vancouver, Canada. Which might not be a bad place to visit. I love the scenery there.
For the first time visitor, this site use to be call The Wired World Of John Chow. Now it’s call the John Chow dot Com The Miscellaneous Ramblings of a Dot Com Mogul, because that is what I am - a Dot Com Mogul - and that is what I’ll be doing - rambling.
John Chow replied that he is interested in being filmed. I will be honored to share his insights about blogging. John has the most strongest personality in the Blogosphere which gives life to this textual world. I want to showcase how the masses have change the way we consume information. If you are a John Chow fan, please comment on his blog and let him know that you cannot wait to see him on film. [ John Chow is in ]
Problogger

Problogger
Every infant has to learn the basics. Darren Rowse at Problogger has created a site that will allow any level blogger to come and benefit from his blog. Newbie bloggers reach out to him because he makes it a one stop shop for all beginner needs. His site has straight to point answers.
Darren is an asset to many. His resourceful tips to improve blogging give great content. His recent article on improving design by looking at magazines, analyzes the idea of using layout designs from an old medium. Darren believes that one should not throw away all design knowledge while trying to mold this new medium of blogging.
Darren’s circle of fans is so strong that he even has a job board. He is also the Vice President of b5media, a network of 255+ bloggers posting different topics.
I started it in September 2004 mainly because I wanted to keep a record of what I was learning about blogging for money. Since then I’ve added over well over 3500 articles, tips, tutorials and case studies to my archives here.
I have recently commented on Darren’s site asking if he would be interested. He replied that maybe Brad Pitt should play his role. Haha, So how about it Darren? [ Darren Rowse is it a maybe or are you in?]
Shoemoney
The guy that always sheds light to new ideas. I love his short simplistic approach. Feed the need. Shoemoney has the most up to date information on internet news. His recent post about Dance Jam with MC Hammer as the front man, excites me, because I love to dance in little battle circles. This is one site I will definitely come back to.
No one can forget his most viewed photo of him holding his Google adsense check of $132,994.97.
“With the help of my wife and her stable income as a physician, I was able to make a break from corporate life and start ShoeMoney Media Group.? From the company’s inception, Schoemaker has embraced the mantra, “prioritize potentially profitable projects.? He is constantly generating new ideas for sites, programs and marketing, channeling energy into those that truly have the potential for long-term traffic and revenue.
Shoemoney is an asset to the blogosphere because he always searches for the next big profitable project. I like this mantra, to keep it simple and straight down to business. [ Shoemoney are you game? ]

How could this benefit them? Well the movie could generate hype to the unknown public or potential newbies and they will be branded with blogging to the masses forever.
Time to impact the world. Whats your dream? Why not join me?

Marketing with ease
The most influential blogger John Chow has given my investment back in a record 57 minutes. It really does pay to get a JC review. He even spelled out my full name correctly. That just shows you how strong his network is. John Chow’s circle is bigger than I could ever imagine. His recent post of being in the top 50 most influential bloggers hits a sweet spot, because like many others I was influence by that famous PDF file of his to make money.
Networking
My Sneaky Bastard idea was to go out on technorati and filter out the top bloggers. Leo Babauta at NorthXEast just gave me a brief bio of the 50 most influential bloggers, which saved me an incredible amount of time. My goal for today is to send a personal note to all 50 bloggers to ask if they would like to participate in my documentary. Of course not all can participate but I will try to get to each one to talk about it.
Sneaky
Once I grab the attention of a few influential bloggers they will spread the news about this movie like an epidemic. Top bloggers are always looking to climb that list. Even #47 would want to gain rank up on that list. Some of the people on this list I enjoy reading are Shoemoney, Problogger, John Chow, and Pete Rojas. Let’s see who will respond.
