Blog Years

posted on: October 17th, 2007

Just like how a dog lives 7 years in a normal human year, a blogger experiences life at a faster rate. From my personal experiences, bloggers will come out blazing trying to make money online like sprinting in a marathon race. They often get burnt out after 3 months. So in blog years, an average newbie blogger will usually phase out after 3 months.

Here are some reasons why bloggers stop blogging

  1. I don’t have enough time
  2. I can’t make money
  3. I can’t write like I use to
  4. I have a better idea
  5. I want to live normal again

1. Not enough time
Blogging can take an extensive amount of time. Not only to actually write about a certain topic but you need to be constantly reading other bloggers’ sites to keep a well informed mind.

2. I can’t make money
Not all bloggers will make money online. Most bloggers will try to make money and phase out after they realized that it takes a long time to be successful. Most can be successful with making enough to have a nice getaway each month.

3. I can’t write like I use to
Content is key to all blogs and sometimes the lack of ideas can be determental. When you are drawing a blank you might want to absorb other news, such as TV, Magazines, other blogs to spark an idea for a post. Sometimes you might feel that you started your blog with a wrong niche and decide to change. You’re afraid you’re going to loose all the time spent, however think of the time you will save.

4. I have a better idea
Ideas run rampant in my head. Sometimes you just need to write things down and stick to a plan. Do not deviate from the plan.

5. I want to live normal again
It’s so hard to leave the blogosphere, because something in the back of your mind tells you that this is the next big phenomenon and I need to be a part of it. Well you’re right! It’s a hard trek up ahead but most bloggers that are 4 months in the game are seen as veterans. So stick it out for 4-5 months before you decide this, you’ll have newbie bloggers asking you for advice.

BLOG for 5 months and you will start to see some success
